At $15.3 billion annually, Texans spend more on prescription drugs than any other state in the country.

Big Pharma continues to raise prices, making lots of prescription drugs unaffordable. During the COVID pandemic alone, Big Pharma raised prices on 832 drugs.

Patients are taking to Twitter to express outrage and shock at the rising price of the sometimes life-saving medicine they need.

One year ago today, my wife started her fight with the first of two separate breast cancer diagnoses.

Her treatment has cost more than $500k. She begins another round of radiation next week.

A long-term medication she'll take after that is $18k per month.

I agree. Leukemia survivor. I had to have a SCT. Some of my drug cost were ridiculous. The cost for my meds were more expensive than my month hospital stay. By alot.

I don't know about everyone else but my drug cost has gone up about 30% in the last 3 years.

The consequences couldn’t be more dire. Studies have shown that over 40% of Texans have already stopped or skipped a dose due to high costs.

Now is the time to look for ways for Texas to look for ways to reduce Big Pharma’s big prices.
